About Art Now Tours

Our tours are carefully curated by a local artist who personally knows many of the creators behind the murals, sculptures, and installations you will discover. These are not just guided walks — they are stories told from within the art community itself.

Art Now Tours was founded by Avantia Damberg, a visual artist with deep roots in Curaçao’s contemporary art scene. Avantia began offering tours in 2017, when her studio was located in Punda at the vibrant art hub Casa Moderna. From this building, a creative movement grew — helping shape the urban art landscape that now colors the city.

In 2019, Avantia also had her studio in Otrobanda, further strengthening her connection to the artists and neighborhoods that define Curaçao’s creative spirit. The idea for the tours emerged organically: during a simple walk through Punda with a fellow artist, she encountered friends working on murals and sculptures throughout the area. What began as an informal introduction quickly turned into a curated mini art walk — and soon after, Art Now Tours was born, expanding into Punda, Scharloo, Fleur de Marie, and Otrobanda.

Meet Your Guide

Our tour guide Liesje Leito has been part of Art Now Tours since 2019. After spending time in the Netherlands, she has returned to continue sharing her passion with us. When Liesje puts her heart into something, you will feel it too. Her warmth, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm make every tour personal and inspiring.
